TenCate Polyfelt® Geocomposites
TenCate Polyfelt® PEC geocomposites are made from high tenacity polyester yarns and nonwoven geotextiles combining reinforcement with superior filtration and drainage functionality to enable finer – grained soils to be reinforced. Its high strength reinforcement properties and excellent in-plane drainage capabilities significantly reduce pore water pressure and increases structural stability.
Benefits of Polyfelt® PEC:
- Low creep ensures a cost effective design
- Excellent soil-geotextile interaction
- In-plane permeability reduces excess pore-water pressure
- Easy installation
Functionalities of Polyfelt® PEC
Reinforcement
The synergistic improvement of a total system’s strength created with a reinforcing geosynthetic (that is good in tension) into a soil and/or aggregate system (that is good in compression but poor in tension) to ensure the stability of structures.
Drainage
The major function of draining is to evacuate water or other liquids towards the structure’s outlets.
Filtration
The equilibrium soil-to-geotextile system that allows for adequate movement of a liquid across the plane of the geotextile to prevent clogging and limit soil loss over the service lifetime of the application.
Typical Applications of Polyfelt® PEC
Reinforced Walls and Slopes
Our geogrids and geocomposites offers high tensile strength, low elongation, low creep and high chemical resistance designed for reinforced walls and slopes.
